What is scrapbooking?
A: Scrapbooking is getting the photographs you have tucked away in shoeboxes or drawers and putting them into albums for others to see. Scrapbooking also provides a way to preserve family memories for future generations.
What is a Custom Memory Album/Scrapbook?
A: A Custom Memory album or Scrapbook is a way to creatively showcase and preserve your precious family photos. It is a decorative photo album made with beautiful hand selected papers and embellishments and designed with you in mind. A custom memory album is more than a photo album. It tells the story of the life of your family.
Why would I want to put my photographs in a memory album/scrapbook?
A: I take pictures of almost every event I go to. Maybe you do too. You probably have pictures of birthday celebrations, anniversaries, Christmas, church events, camping trips, vacations, school events and sometimes just everyday life. To be able to enjoy these memories for years to come, it is important to properly handle and store these pictures. A custom memory album/scrapbook is the perfect solution.
Taking pictures and developing film requires an investment of time and money. Do you find yourself getting all excited about the pictures when you first look at them? I know I do. But after looking at them several times, I lay them aside. Sometimes I’ve even been known to forget what pictures I have and even where I put them. If we put them into a custom memory album/scrapbook, this almost never happens.
Why not just put my photographs in a regular photo album?
A: Long-term preservation is one of the goals of scrapbooking. Some of the older photo albums (especially the old sticky-page, magnetic ones) could possibly destroy the pictures by fading the color and making them brittle. Custom memory albums are made with archival quality materials that are acid and lignin free.
What is “acid & lignin free” and why is it so important in preserving my photos?
A: Acid is used in paper manufacturing to break apart the wood fibers and the lignin which holds them together. Acids destroy paper over time. It is imperative that all materials used in scrapbooks are acid-free. The adhesive in magnetic albums, for example, is often highly acidic. Lignin is the bonding element that holds wood fibers together as a tree grows. If lignin remains in the final paper product (as with newsprint) it will become yellow and brittle over time.
Are products used in making my album/scrapbook safe:
A: Scrapbooking paper and materials used in creating your album are free of these impurities so your album and photos will last for future generations to enjoy!
What is the difference between a Custom Memory Album and a Pre-Made Album?
A: A custom memory album is an album made using the photos you provide to us. We do all the work – including journaling your pages if you request us to do so. A pre-made album is an album we make for a specific event such as baby, vacation, wedding, school, etc. All you do is crop and add your photos.
What occasions can Custom Memory Albums/Scrapbooks be made for?
A: As long as you have photos, we can design a Custom Memory Album for you. Some themes may include: baby, wedding, vacation, special birthday, anniversary, school, and heritage albums. The possibilities are endless.

How does the process work?
A: We will meet with you in person (if local) or over the phone if in another area to discuss plans and ideas for your album. You will be notified when your album is finished. Final payment is due at this time.
Do I need to organize my photos before giving them to you?
A: To make sure we capture the essence of your album, you should group photos together that need to stay together on each page or two page layouts. You could organize them in a photo box, or keep them in separate photo envelopes. For an hourly fee, we will organize them for you.
How many photos will fit on a page?
A: The number of photos that will fit on a page is determined by the size of the album and whether your photos are cropped.
One 12 x 12 page: 3-5 photos
One 8 ½ x 11 page: 1-3 photos
One 6 x 6 page: 1-2 photos
Will you crop my photos?
A: The decision to crop or not crop your photos will be made by you. During the initial consultation we will be discussing this. All your photos will be reviewed, and a note will be made of which ones you do not want cropped.
What is journaling and who provides it?
A: Journaling is the written detail that tells the story behind the photos. It’s the who, what, where, when and why to photographs. Journaling can be done in several different ways. You can provide the journaling and it can be printed via computer and included on the page. Space or a journaling box can be left for you to handwrite your journaling when the album is finished. The space needed for journaling can be large enough to include several paragraphs or as small as identification notes. Space amounts can be discussed at the initial consultation. Quotes and poems can be used in place of, or in addition to, journaling space on the pages.
